Kent Greenough Receives Support of J. Lee Douglas of
9.12 Project Nashville
J. Lee Douglas, founding member and organizer of the 9.12 Project Nashville/9.12 Project Tennessee, has announced his support for Kent Greenough for the Republican nomination in Tennesseeʼs 4th Congressional District. The stated purpose of this announcement, while not an official endorsement by the Project, which is prohibited based on the organizationʼs filing status, is “to get out the word to 9.12 Project members about which candidates best measure up to the 9 principles and 12 values” upon which the Meetup Groups have been founded.
Says Douglas, “Iʼve been paying attention to our 912 committeesʼ vetting across the state and my observations that Iʼm sharing with you…are not as an official officer of 912 but rather as an individual citizen and friend who cares as passionately as you about the true character of our elected officials.”
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with whom I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
The Twelve Values
1. Honesty
2. Reverence
3. Hope
4. Thrift
5. Humility
6. Charity
7. Sincerity
8. Moderation
9. Hard Work
10. Courage
11. Personal Responsibility
Gratitude
Kent Greenough issued the following statement in response:
“I am privileged to be considered the Congressional candidate that best represents the values of 9.12 Project Nashville/9.12 Project Tennessee. I am in complete agreement with J. Lee Douglas that I, as a candidate, am asking you to hire me. With your help, the 4th District will finally have a candidate who is from the 4th, who believes in the people of the 4th, who supports the people of the 4th, and who will represent the people of the 4th to the very best of his ability. I ask that you join me on Aug. 5 to take a stand and insist that our Republic return to the 9 values and 12 principles that have made America great.”
Kent Greenough is a small business owner, husband of 39 years to his wife Jan and father of two grown children. Kent was commissioned an officer in the Marine Corps and is a graduate of UCLA with a degree in Middle Eastern History. Kent is a former chairman of the Lincoln County Republican Party and current Commandant of the Lincoln County Marine Corps League.
